Food and Financial Assistance

Sue StonesAnglicare

As costs for day-to-day expenses such as rent, food and power continue to rise, a setback such as sickness, loss of a job or an unexpected bill can make you feel your financial situation is getting out of control.  Anglicare can provide immediate practical assistance and longer-term solutions to help you build a more hopeful future.

Our Case worker Sue Stones has been a member of St Hilda’s since 2011, and in 2015 she took on the role of providing Food Assistance for those who come to St Hildas for support, and later that year providing more assistance through Anglicare.  The partnership with Anglicare sees Sue providing Food and Financial 3 mornings a week at St Hilda’s.

‘Which of these do you think proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell into the robbers’ hands?’ He said, ‘The one who showed mercy toward him.’  Then Jesus said to him, ‘Go and do the same.’ (Luke 10:36–37)
