On the first trip to the islands in 2008 the team met with Sir Peter Kenilori, Speaker of the House of Parliament.

St Hilda’s have been involved in sending short term mission exposure trips to the Solomon Islands for over ten years.

There is a great need in the Islands for good biblical training and resources.  The churches are full of keen people who love the Lord, but they need quality training and materials to help them in their Christian growth.  Over the years we’ve uncovered a great number of opportunities for gospel ministry in the islands. The needs are far beyond what one church can manage.

We regularly travel to the Islands and are wanting to further develop this ministry and assist others to get involved.  As we’ve partnered with churches there and tried to help, we ourselves have been greatly blessed and learnt much from our brothers and sisters in Melanesia, we’d like to invite you to get involved.

We are aware of a number of churches and diocesan organisations in the islands that are keen to partner with churches in Sydney and explore ways we can mutually encourage one another in the service of our great Lord and Saviour.

We’re working at connecting people and organisations so these things can happen. The kinds of ministries needed are as diverse as training in evangelism, discipling, strategies for youth ministries, prayer support, bible study methods, preaching and teaching opportunities, provision of resources like bibles, bible study notes, bible commentaries and possible exchange opportunities.

Hence, if you are interested in finding out more, please fill out your details below and we’ll contact you about ways you might consider getting involved.
