5. Mount Sinai - God gave Moses the Law<

Deuteronomy 5: 2 While we were at Mount Sinai, the LORD our God made a covenant with us. ….4 The LORD spoke to you face to face from the heart of the fire on the mountain. 5I stood as an intermediary between you and the LORD …He spoke to me, and I passed his words on to you. This is what he said: ….7"Do not worship any other gods besides me. 8Do not make idols of any kind, whether in the shape of birds or animals or fish. 9You must never worship or bow down to them, for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God who will not share your affection with any other god! I do not leave unpunished the sins of those who hate me, but I punish the children for the sins of their parents to the third and fourth generations. 10But I lavish my love on those who love me and obey my commands, even for a thousand generations.'11Do not misuse the name of the LORD your God. 12 Observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy …"

Now I will make your name famous throughout the earth! 10 And I have provided a permanent homeland for my people Israel, a secure place where they will never be disturbed. It will be their own land where wicked nations won't oppress them as they did in the past…..12For when you die, I will raise up one of your descendants, and I will make his kingdom strong. 13He is the one who will build a house-a temple-for my name. And I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever."2 Samuel 7: 8"Now go and say to my servant David, 'this is what the LORD Almighty says: I chose you to lead my people Israel when you were just a shepherd boy, tending your sheep out in the pasture. 9I have been with you

7. The Covenant is Broken - God's people are sent into exile

2 Chronicles 36:15The LORD, the God of their ancestors, repeatedly sent his prophets to warn them, for he had compassion on his people and his Temple.16But the people mocked these messengers of God and despised their words. They scoffed at the prophets until the LORD'S anger could no longer be restrained …17So the LORD brought the king of Babylon against them. …19 Then his army set fire to the Temple of God, broke down the walls of Jerusalem, burned all the palaces, and completely destroyed everything of value. 20The few who survived were taken away to Babylon, and they became servants to the king and his sons until the kingdom of Persia came to power. 21So the message of the LORD spoken through Jeremiah was fulfilled."

10. Jesus' Kingdom Authority Demonstrated

Mark 2:1 Several days later Jesus returned to Capernaum, and the news of his arrival spread quickly through the town. 2 Soon the house where he was staying was so packed with visitors that there wasn't room for one more person, not even outside the door. And he preached the word to them. 3Four men arrived carrying a paralyzed man on a mat. 4They couldn't get to Jesus through the crowd, so they dug through the clay roof above his head. Then they . . . . .

11. The Death of Jesus

Matthew 27:29They made a crown of long, sharp thorns and put it on his head, and they placed a stick in his right hand as a scepter. Then they knelt before him in mockery, yelling, "Hail! King of the Jews!"30 And they spat on him and grabbed the stick and beat him on the head with it. 31When they were finally tired of mocking him ….they led him away to be crucified….. 35 they nailed him to the cross…..50 Then Jesus …gave up his spirit. 51At that moment the curtain in the Temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. The earth shook, rocks split apart.."

12.The Resurrection of Jesus Christ - Lord of All

Matthew 28:1 Early on Sunday morning, as the new day was dawning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went out to see the tomb. 2Suddenly there was a great earthquake, because an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and rolled aside the stone and sat on it. 3 His face shone like lightning, and his clothing was as white as snow. 4The guards shook with fear when they saw him, and they fell into a dead faint. 5Then the angel spoke to the women. "Don't be afraid!" he said. "I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. 6He isn't here! He has been raised from the dead, just as he said would happen. Come, see where his body was lying. 7 And now, go quickly and tell his disciples he has been raised from the dead, and he is going ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there.

13. The Coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost

Acts 2:1 On the day of Pentecost, seven weeks after Jesus' resurrection, the believers were meeting together in one place. 2Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm in the skies above them, and it filled the house where they were meeting. 3Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them. 4And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability.

14. The Church - Preaching the Gospel

Acts 17:18 A group of Epicurean and Stoic philosophers began to dispute with him. Some of them asked, "What is this babbler trying to say?" Others remarked, "He seems to be advocating foreign gods." They said this because Paul was preaching the good news about Jesus and the resurrection. 19 Then they took him and brought him to a meeting of the Areopagus, where they said to him, "May we know what this new teaching is that you are presenting? 20 You are bringing some strange ideas to our ears, and we want to know what they mean." 21 (All the Athenians and the foreigners who lived there spent their time doing nothing but talking about and listening to the latest ideas.)
22 Paul then stood up in the meeting of the Areopagus and said: "Men of Athens! I see that in every way you are very religious. 23 For as I walked around and looked carefully at your objects of worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO AN UNKNOWN GOD. Now what you worship as something unknown I am going to proclaim to you.

15. The Second Coming of Christ to Rule

Revelation 19:11Then I saw heaven opened, and a white horse was standing there. And the one sitting on the horse was named Faithful and True. For he judges fairly and then goes to war. 12 His eyes were bright like flames of fire, and on his head were many crowns. A name was written on him, and only he knew what it meant. 13He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and his title was the Word of God. 14 The armies of heaven, dressed in pure white linen, followed him on white horses. 15From his mouth came a sharp sword, and with it he struck down the nations. He ruled them with an iron rod, and he trod the winepress of the fierce wrath of almighty God. 16 On his robe and thigh was written this title: King of kings and Lord of lords. Philippians 2: 6 Though he was God, he did not demand and cling to his rights as God.7He made himself nothing; he took the humble position of a slave and appeared in human form.8 And in human form he obediently humbled himself even further by dying a criminal's death on a cross. 9Because of this, God raised him up to the heights of heaven and gave him a name that is above every other name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
