What
is
AMR?
AMR is used by Adaptive
Muti-Rate
audio files that are created by some modern cell-phones. This format
was developed by 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) for encoding
speech. AMR algorithm uses different bitrates to encode audio based on
its contents to conserve memory space and bandwidth. Compression
schemes include: ACELP, VAD, CNG and DTX. Bitrates can range from 1.8
to 12.2 kilobit per second.
What is MP3?
MP3
stands for MPEG-1 Audio
Layer 3. This is the most common digital music compression format. It
can be opened by large number of players including Windows Media Player
which is integrated into Microsoft Windows. Not being able to open
these files may indicate a serious problem.
